My Color of 2011

February 9, 2011

As you may have read in my previous post, Pantone’s 2011 Color of the Year is Honeysuckle.

I’m still trying to embrace it.

However, if I had to decide on the “it” color of 2011, I’d choose Mustard!

Look at it – so beautiful… It’s versatile, it’s old-school in a good way and, well, it’s related to food. Perfection, I say.

Still not sold on my color choice, you say? (oh, so you think Honeysuckle is any better?)

Here are some very unique and easy ways to incorporate Mustard in to your everyday life.

This bohemian bracelet adds the perfect amount of color to play up a simple brown or black dress. Perfect for day or evening…

And this belt, easy on the eyes and offers a stylish way to cinch in your waistline on a flowy shirt…

***

How cute is this tank top? It would look so breezy and effortless with a cute pair of dark-wash skinny jeans…

***

A little bit of retro never hurt anybody! Modernize this skirt with a white or grey short-sleeved, button-down shirt. You’ll be turning heads at the office for sure…

***

Step it up on the weekends with a playful and flirty dress, perfect for spring and summer…

 ***

Why stop there? Your feet need some Mustard love too! Mmhmm, these shoes are so smokin’ hot…

***

(p.s. all of these clothing pieces are under $100 – so no excuses!)

Now let’s move on to home decor. Incorporating some pop of color into your bedroom will help you feel refreshed in the morning and energized (ahem) any time of day…

And if you aren’t ready to commit a lot of space to this color in your home just yet, add this intricate and colorful rug to liven up any room…

(p.s. I am definitely getting this rug as soon as I get a place to put it!!)

Looking for ideas to add my 2011 color of the year to your wedding? Gee, I feel so special. :) Here’s just a few…

And last, but certainly not least, I always recommend you add some sort of Mustard here…

Love the dress and wedges! I agree that mustard goes best with pretzels but I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for Salted Chocolate’s color of the year :)
