Room Shopping
… because furniture shopping seems too daunting.
When I actually do have a place for all of my furniture, decor and ideas to be stored, I’ve decided that I wouldn’t want any of my furniture in the room to match exactly.
I always look to the completed image for inspiration when decor shopping. When I know what the final outcome can look like, I know what I want to look for.
First is the most important room in the house. The boudoir…
Although I don’t think the ManFriend will give up his ceiling fan for a chandelier, a girl can dream, right?
How’s this for a guest room?
Only problem is, I think I’ll have a hard time making my guests actually leave. And yes, I do have friends that will stay as long as they can get away with it…
Next, onto the dining room. My second-favorite room only because that’s where we get to eat! The joys!
I could sit here all day. Bonus: it features my color of the year.
Now we have the living room, which is the ManFriend’s most important room. For that matter, I’d like to make it more gender-neutral…
A perfect place for watching football and nail-painting. See? Man and Woman CAN co-exist!
There you have it – my room-shopping inspirations. Who knows, though, they’ll probably change tomorrow.
What can I say, I’m a Libra.
Fruit the Chocolate
Have you heard anyone say, “Don’t fruit the beer”? (If you have, smack them – hello, Corona!)
In honor of post-Valentine’s Day (and to spread the love, every day)- How’s about we fruit the leftover chocolate?!
When I saw these red beauties in the grocery store, it was impossible to resist…
I HAD to get them. Valentine’s Day was right around the corner, so there was my excuse.
Plus, it’s a good way to get your daily amount of fruit – right? :)
And of course, I had to salt the chocolate – at least for just a few…
They were made as gifts, but I’ll admit I snuck a few for myself. Wouldn’t you?
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
INGREDIENTS
6 oz leftover V-Day chocolate, chopped
1 lb strawberries (about 20), washed and dried very well
DIRECTIONS
Put the semisweet a heatproof medium bowls. Melt the chocolate in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.
Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, or with a toothpick, dip the fruit into the chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Sprinkle sea salt on the chocolate while it’s still hot (optional).
Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

Love Every Day
I believe love should be celebrated every day. Make sure you tell the people you care about how much you love them. It’s so important…
No matter how you say it.
For the sake of celebration, however, have fun today!
Tomorrow, I’ll post some pictures of the surprise gift I made for my loved ones over the weekend.
Happy Weekend
Instead of buying cheap chocolate and a card that will eventually get thrown away, I’m going to make Paula Deen’s red velvet cupcakes for my Valentine. It’s a favorite of his, and it will be made with with lots of love.
I also saw that Lifetime is having a V-Day Movie Marathon Weekend, so you know what I’ll be doing!
Good excuse to stay in and veg. My favorite thing to do.

Look for Less: Alex Wedge
If you love following celebrity fashion like I do – you’ll appreciate this post. And if you LOVE wedges like I do – you’re welcome, I’m about to make you a very happy girl!
When I saw this photo of these 3 lovely ladies – my eyes were instantly drawn to their feet (but not in a weird way).
Aren’t those shoes TO DIE FOR?! I had to get them.
My research led me to these – the Stuart Weitzman “Alex” Espadrille Sandal…
But at $365 – my hopes and dreams of having Jennifer Aniston’s shoes were diminshed. Until I found these…
Oh, hi equally cute and super affordable Steve Madden “Fantastik” Sandals! At a mere $69 – they are Fantistik fo sho.
Ah, finally my dream of celeb-worthy feet style is becoming a reality.
